VSSUT: Inspiring Excellence, Empowering Communities, Connecting Generations

A marathon is more than a race — it celebrates health, perseverance, and community. It inspires participants, fosters teamwork, and raises awareness for meaningful causes. At VSSUT, it unites students, staff, alumni, and the local community in fitness, leadership, and social impact.

Health & Wellness Awareness
Addresses growing concerns of sedentary lifestyles, stress, and mental health in students.Promotes fitness culture on campus, motivating both students and staff to stay active.

Fosters Unity & Team Spirit
Organizing and participating in a marathon builds collaboration across departments, batches, and faculty. Creates a shared memory that builds campus culture and camaraderie.

Brand Building & Public Image
Hosting a public event like a half marathon can put the college on the map — drawing attention from local media, alumni, and potential partners. Reinforces a progressive, community-engaged, student-centered image.

Community Engagement & CSR
Involve Staff & Their Family Members, Other Education Institutions such as VSS Medical, Sambalpur University, GM College, IIMs and others.

Leadership & Organizational Skills –
Students learn to manage large-scale events — logistics, sponsorships, safety, marketing. Acts as a practical leadership lab for real-world problem-solving.

Creates Legacy
Make it an annual signature event — something alumni and future students look forward to. Adds tradition and pride to the college’s identity.

Awareness and Messaging
Can be themed (e.g.,
Run for Sustainability, STEM, Mental Health, Stand Against Bullying/Ragging) to reflect college values and connect with social causes.

"Let’s begin the right way"

Together, we run for awareness, health, and a safe, vibrant campus.
Be the change — take a stand, take a step, and inspire others.
